You may be in favor or against Immigration. I understand both sides of the debate. What you cannot deny is the deep desire immigrants have to improve their lives. Why would you leave the comfort or what you know to venture off into a country that you may not know anything off? Because you know that the United States is the one amazing country and inside this great country you have heard that if someone has a good heart, a good brain and a pair of tough hands, you can grow out of the deep hole of despair many people have.
This country is it. It is the mecca of dreams. You dream of having your little business. Maybe save up a bit of money. You want to help your father or son. Your dream is small, but in your heart that dream is worth gold.
That is what an immigrant wants: please give me a chance to find my dream.
Only the United States gives some many humans this vast and wonderful opportunity. That is why we love this country. Because it has been good to us. And now, we shall be good to it and love it and honor it as our adopted nation.
That is why, with all our heart, we immigrants wish God bless this great, great country called American.
